The housing situation in Innsbruck is no longer bearable: A broad alliance of local collectives and groups is finally calling for a large-scale demonstration for affordable housing – be there and make your voice heard!
In Innsbruck almost no one can afford an apartment anymore! For many it is hardly possible to afford the monthly rent without financial worries. Especially people with migrant backgrounds, families, as well as single parents with children are increasingly affected by discrimination on the housing market. What causes rents to rise is not current inflation, but a profit-driven, capitalist housing market. At the same time, there is a lot of vacancies (empty living space). Economic interests are clearly put before social interests by politicians. This puts on risk the livelihood of more and more population groups.
We demand:
→ Rent cap now! A legally binding maximum price per square meter.
→ Fight vacancy (empty living spaces)! Vacancy taxes & opening up vacancies for people in need.
→ Investments in affordable and sustainable housing! Public money for common good instead of private profits.
It cannot be that the social majority sinks into poverty at the expense of the rich! Let’s take to the streets in solidarity and unity!
